A 30-year-old man is facing an attempted murder charge following an incident at the Waterford Hospital Thursday night.
Police responded to the facility in the west end of St. John’s shortly after 6 p.m. following an altercation between two patients.
A 30-year-old man, who is facing a charge of attempted murder and assault with a weapon, is expected to make a first appearance in provincial court this morning.
Police say the 66-year-old victim remains in hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
