The MHA for Ferryland district knows what he wants for Christmas, and it’s something he’s been asking for for some time.
Loyola O’Driscoll is renewing his call for 24/7 snow clearing and road maintenance through the winter season.
Government has indicated that it has crews on the ready when adverse weather is in the forecast, but O’Driscoll says that’s not enough.
He has a lot of residents the district who work in health care in the capital city and travel the roads night and day. He says 24/7 snow clearing is a matter of public safety.
“If something happens overnight or a storm starts at 12:00″ says O’Driscoll, ” then they’ve got to get on the road fairly quickly, so they should have people there 24 hours a day from January to March, or April.”
