An iconic Clarenville resident is being remembered with fondness this Christmas.
Ralph “Boonie” Lethbridge passed away suddenly at his home on Tibb’s Eve. He was 80 years old.
Boonie was synonymous with the Christmas season, with people driving from far and wide to get one of his hand-sawn Christmas trees.
Described as having a larger-than-life personality and a generous heart, he was well known throughout the community.
In 2016, he agreed to have his iconic Santa-like beard shaved in an event that raised money for ALS research and awareness.
Visitation will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Fewer’s Funeral Home, with the funeral service to take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 29 from Memorial United Church in Clarenville.
