The Christmas season is a busy one with many people on the move visiting family and friends.

The RNC is offering a few tips for the season to ensure that your property is secure from thieves while you’re out enjoying the holidays.

Constable James Cadigan is reminding residents to make sure all windows and doors are locked and your alarm system is on, and use curtains and blinds to keep gifts and new purchases out of sight.

Don’t store your spare keys within arms-reach of a window or door, and if you are away for an extended period, use light timers or motion-activated sensors to keep your property well-lit.

It’s also a good idea to ask a trusted neighbor or friend to check on your property while you’re away.
