A man who walked across the country says the most memorable part of his journey is the people.
Richard Zier-Vogel of Whitehorse, left the Alaskan-Yukon border March 31, 2018, and walked 500 km.
He started again during August of 2018 and made it to Saskatoon, and then eventually started again to make his way to the island and Cape Spear.
Zier-Vogel is no stranger to traveling across Canada. 10 years ago he did it with a bicycle, where he encountered someone who was making the trip by foot.
That’s when it became part of his bucket list.
Zier-Vogel says the people outweighed the scenery. He says the memories truly are the people he met across the country.
He says how great Canadians truly are is so much better than the scenery.
