The C-NLOPB has been informed of an incident on the Hebron platform during last weekend’s winter storm.

ExxonMobil informed the regulator that a piece of flashing, weighing about 2.5 kilograms, fell approximately 18 meters from a stair down to a walkway during last Sunday’s vicious windstorm.

A pre-storm check was conducted the previous day and no abnormalities were noted.

There were no workers in the area at the time and no injuries were reported, but the incident did have the potential to cause injury or death had someone been in the area at the time.

ExxonMobil has launched an investigation which is being monitored by the C-NLOPB.
