Five Canadian industry associations have formed a joint working group to support the push against Donald Trump’s threatened tariff on Canadian goods.
The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, Pathways Alliance, Enserva, the Explorers and Producers Association and the Canadian Association of Energy Contractors are working together to support efforts across Canada to prevent tariffs from being placed on Canadian oil and natural gas exported to the US.
They’re also preparing to mitigate the impact should those threatened tariffs become a reality.
The group says Canadian oil and natural gas make up the largest part of this country’s trade value – 25 per cent of all the country’s exports and about $150 billion dollars worth of energy trade with the US annually.
