Construction starts in this province jumped 34 per cent for December 2024 compared to a year prior.

The Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation estimates that 94 homes began construction in December.

The capital city accounted for 71 of those homes, which is a 20 per cent increase year over year.

Across the country, 2024 housing starts were up 2 per cent compared to 2023.
