“Drill, baby, drill.”
That was Donald Trump’s message during his inaugural speech in Washington this week.
Trump made clear that he intends to ramp up U.S. oil production to make the country less reliant on foreign oil.
That’s a concern for producers in this country, where most of the oil we produce heads south of the border.
Energy NL is consulting with its members on Trump’s directive and is participating in meetings with the provincial government on a response to potential tariffs.
Energy NL says it does have concerns and will have more to say next week when the US and Canadian governments release further information.
