Tributes are coming in for a former Burin Peninsula MHA.

Mary Hodder, who represented the district of Burin-Placentia West from 1996 to 2003, passed away yesterday. She was 79.

Hodder was the former Deputy Mayor of Marystown before being elected to the House of Assembly in 1996 under former Premier Brian Tobin.

Premier Andrew Furey offered his thanks for Hodder’s dedication to public life, saying her “contributions will be felt for years to come.”
