It looks as though the Avalon Peninsula will see its first significant snowfall of the season mid-week, thanks to a fast-moving system.
David Neil, a warning preparedness meteorologist with Environment Canada, says there is still a lot of uncertainty in the forecast.
He says the system will hit the Avalon either Wednesday night or early Thursday morning depending on the track, bringing with it a “good shot of snow” – though exact amounts have not be nailed down just yet.
He says most of the forecast models are predicting at least 10 cm of snow, with others going as high as 15 cm.
