A sense of “gratitude” and “resilience” was present in the metro region recently as the Avalon branch of the Ukrainian National Federation marked the third anniversary of the Russian invasion.

Russia launched a full-scale invasion of the country on February 24th, 2022.

Bruce Lilly of UNF Avalon says there will be a “distribution of people” who want to return home, depending on their circumstances, once the war has finally concluded.

He says that will depend on the way in which war is ended. Lilly describes people “waiting with baited breath,” not to hear about what the discussions or headlines are day-to-day, “but what is in black-and-white at the end of the day.”
