Big game licence applications are now open for the 2025-26 hunting season licence draw.
Eligible hunters and trappers must have an account in order to apply for a licence.
The moose quota for the island for the next season is 27,515 – a drop of 75 from the 2024-25 season.
That includes 19,165 either-sex, 7,890 male only and 460 not-for-profit licences.
In Labrador, 348 either-sex moose licences are available in the resident big game draw.
The caribou quota for the island is 612 animals, an increase of 16 from last year. Caribou hunting in Labrador will continue to be prohibited to help populations recover.
The deadline to apply for big game licences is April 25.
