A local distillery is hopeful that the tariff war that saw the removal of U.S. products from liquor store shelves will open up some opportunities for one of its specialty products.
Peter Wilkins of the Newfoundland Distillery in Clarke’s Beach says while NLC orders for their products have increased, it’s hard to say how that will affect overall sales.
The company has a number of products including gin and whiskey, but Wilkins says the void they’re hoping to fill is coffee liqueur.
He says most coffee liqueurs are made in the United States, so he’s hopeful they can benefit by selling more of their product.
