Twillingate RCMP are investigating after a failed attempt to steal an ATM from a business in Fairbank.
Police were first called to Dearing’s Automotive just before 5 a.m. last Friday.
They say surveillance captured images of a masked person arriving in a black 2010 GMC Sierra.
The suspect is said to have used the truck to smash the front end of the business.
They attempted to steal the ATM by towing it behind the vehicle, but were unsuccessful.
A short time later, the same truck was found on fire in the town of Summerford.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
