A binder containing the personal health information of some 3,300 people has gone missing and hasn’t been seen in nearly two years.
On Thursday evening, the Department of Health informed the public of a privacy breach involving a binder, reported missing from the MCP office in Grand Falls-Windsor.
The office maintained the binder for tracking reimbursement applications to the Adult Dental Program. The binder contained the names, MCP numbers and partial addresses of people who made reimbursement applications to the Adult Dental Brogram between April, 2015, and January, 2018.
Department officials were notified on October 23.
A search was conducted, but the binder has not been located. Those affected are in the process of being notified.
MCP now uses an electronic tracking system with appropriate security features.
