The case against a school teacher charged with sexual exploitation of a minor won’t be back in court again until early in the new year.
31-year-old Krysta Grimes did not appear in court today. Her lawyer, Ian Patey, asked the judge for more time to review disclosure in the case.
Patey was hired by the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association. The charges stem from when Grimes was working as a substitute teacher and that’s why she is being represented by a lawyer hired by the union.
Police allege the incident involving a boy occurred between March and June of 2018.
The matter will be called again on January 13.
