A ceremony is taking place this morning to commemorate the lives of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who died in the battle of Gallipoli in World War I.
According to Veterans Affairs Canada, 30 men died in action during the four-month campaign, and another 10 died of disease.
The ceremony is being held at Caribou Park at Quidi Vidi Lake.
About 40 troops will be in attendance, including the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band.
The event is taking place at 9:30 a.m.
