A cross-city chase ended in a violent confrontation with police last night, following an armed robbery in the east end of St. John’s.

By the time RNC officers arrived on the scene at 9:00 p.m., the suspects had already driven away. Their vehicle was located in the center city area a short time later.

A 29-year-old woman was arrested on the scene, but two men fled on foot. The officers only managed to snag one, but he put up quite a fight.

In the end he received a raft of charges including theft, threats, weapons possession and assault, assault of a police officer and breach of court orders.

The second man remains at large, but he has been identified and a warrant requested for his arrest.
