The Gander International Airport Authority is encouraged by a new intraprovincial air loop connecting Gander with St. John’s and Deer Lake.
PAL will provide the links through the summer tourism season in an initiative made possible with the help of the provincial government.
Airport Authority CEO Reg Wright is hopeful it will result in more traffic, because it opens up more seats at a key time of year.
He says the loop is aimed at non-resident visitors who want to see more of the province, so they can “spend less time in transit, and more time in Twillingate.” Wright says the network flow to other airlines like WestJet and Air Canada “really could be beneficial.”
