An organization which aims to improve gender representation in the House of Assembly is putting its money where its mouth is.

The chair of Equal Voice NL is going to be a candidate in next fall’s municipal election. Kate Cadigan, who says she has learned a lot during her time with the organization, is going to run for an at-large seat in St. John’s.

Cadigan says one of the things she has learned is how to put creative policy-making to work.

She says the Equal Voice campaign schools prep you on how to run a successful campaign, which will be handy as I get on the ground and start knocking on doors,” says Cadigan.
