Two snowmobilers are dead after their machine ended up in the water near Hopedale.

The two men, ages 41 and 47, were on their way to a cabin to go fishing.

The men were last seen Friday night, and searchers began a hunt for them at about 10:00 Saturday morning. Tracks led Hopedale Ground Search and Rescue to the ocean but the ice was in poor condition.

They first found the snowmobile submerged in water, then recovered the bodies.
