The federal government has released the itinerary for Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s visit to the Capital Region next week.
The King and Queen are visiting Ottawa next week primarily to deliver the Speech from the Throne – it’s the first time a Monarch has delivered the speech in the Senate since 1977, when Queen Elizabeth was in Ottawa as part of a Royal tour.
The King and Queen will arrive in Ottawa on May 26th where they will travel to Lansdowne Park to meet with the public and members of community organizations.
The King will deliver the Speech from the Throne on the 27th, opening the 45th sitting of Parliament, and setting the course for Mark Carney’s government in the year ahead.
