Two people have been arrested following an incident on Brazil Street in St. John’s during which multiple gunshots were fired.
The RNC were first called to Harbourview Apartments just before 5 p.m. on Friday.
When they arrived, officers were waved down by a member of the public, who said multiple shots were fired at a parked vehicle in what police believe was a targeted incident.
There were no injuries.
The next day, police allege they attempted to pull over 39-year-old Andrew Rees, but he failed to stop and struck a parked vehicle. The suspect then fled on foot, discarding a black handgun in the process, before being arrested.
Later that day, 43-year-old Sheldon King was also arrested.
Both men are facing a slew of charges, mainly related to firearms offenses.
Police believe other people were involved in the incident.
Specifically, they are looking to track the movements of an orange Ford Edge that was seized with a false license plate of JUO 447.
The RNC is also looking for footage from the area of Brazil Street, Casey Street, and Lemarchant Road from 4 p.m. Friday and noon on Saturday.
