A group dedicated to tracking and researching the movement of sharks in the Atlantic shows a tagged great white currently swimming on the Grand Banks.
Great whites, the largest predatory fish in the oceans, have been spotted more frequently in the colder waters around Newfoundland in recent years.
A transponder, attached to Baker, a nearly 13 foot, 1,400 pound great white by U.S. research group Ocearch, pinged on the Grand Banks southeast of Trepassey early yesterday morning.
Baker arrived on the Grand Banks after making his way up from just outside Mahone Bay off Nova Scotia last week.
