The Canadian Hurricane Centre’s track shows the storm moving south east of Nova Scotia by Friday afternoon.
It’s not forecast to make landfall, but is expected to produce high seas, heavy rain and strong winds.
Offshore operators are preparing as the storm approaches. The “floatel” Endurance – a platform that includes accommodations for the West White Rose project, is being moved to Conception Bay ahead of the storm.
