Newfoundland Power crews are making headway in restoring service after high winds knocked things out of kilter.
In metro, there are outages. Service has been interrupted in the area of Hoyles Avenue, Mundy Pond, Mayor Avenue, Amherst Heights, Witless Bay, Western Gully Road in Portugal Cove and Brigus South.
Elsewhere, power is out in Goobies, Adeytown, Plate Cove, Southern Harbour, Charlottetown, Grenfell Heights in Grand Falls-Windsor, Cox’s Cove, Cormack, Reidville and Lourdes.
The winds caused lots of damage in some places. A utility pole is down on Torbay Road near Ennis Avenue, an overhead light on McDonald Drive near the elementary school is dangling, and many portable signs in metro have incurred some structural damage.
