All three levels of government will be represented as the capital city marks the official opening of the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre.
While the new facility has been open to the public since the fall, a celebratory ribbon-cutting is scheduled for this morning with Mayor Danny Breen, Minister Barry Petten and MP Tom Osborne.
Emma Reelis, who’s originally from Nain but has been living in St. John’s since the 1960s, will perform a blessing, and one of the grade 5 classes from nearby St. Teresa’s Elementary will also provide a musical performance.
The event gets underway at 9:30. VOCM News will be there.
