Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services has pinned down a date for the opening of the Urgent Care Centre in the east end of St. John’s.
The facility, which is one step below a full-blown emergency room, will open its doors Monday, January 12.
Walk-in services and appointments will be offered at the centre, located in the former Costco building on Stavanger Drive.
NLHS says it will bridge the gap between emergency rooms and primary care, offering a different type of care for illnesses or injuries that need quick medical attention but that are not serious enough to require an emergency room visit or immediate hospitalization.
Information around the opening date for the Urgent Care Centre (west) located at 850 Topsail Road in Mount Pearl will be shared with the public once finalized.
