North Atlantic says it is pleased with the agreement on Bay du Nord.
The company, which operates a refinery in France and is a major buyer of Newfoundland and Labrador crude, says it has an interest in seeing projects such as this move forward.
North Atlantic also highlighted its ongoing plans at the Bull Arm site, saying it looks forward to finalizing an agreement to use land there for its wind-to-hydrogen project and other developments. The company emphasized its commitment to working with government, Equinor, and other stakeholders to maximize the site’s value for the province.
