Happy Valley-Goose Bay is the latest municipality to announce the introduction of a tourist accommodation tax.
The Town of Gander is bringing in a new four per cent tax on overnight accommodations, and Goose Bay is following suit.
The town says all operators of short-term rentals will be required to collect the tax, which will go towards the “development of tourism in central Labrador.”
The levy comes into effect April 1.
