RCMP are investigating an attack at a dog park on Bell Island that claimed the life of a small dog, and resulted in injuries to its owner.
RCMP say the small dog was approached by two dogs -that were owned by the same person – at the off-leash dog park on Steve Neary Boulevard Monday Morning.
The two dogs set upon the smaller dog and its owner was injured when he attempted to intervene.
The matter was raised on VOCM Open Line earlier this week by a friend of the pet owner.
The caller says they “attacked his dog and killed it. Tore it apart; he’s heartbroken.”
RCMP have identified the owner of the other two dogs, and an investigation is underway.
