Forest fire season is now in effect in Labrador, and that means changes to some of the rules.
Permits are not required for campfires, however, government says anyone planning outdoor or backyard fires in approved devices should check the Forest Fire Hazard Map to determine the level of risk in the area.
A burn permit is required to burn vegetation, paper or wood from the Forest Management District Office.
Forest fire season in Labrador ends September 15.
