A couple of overtime wins have the Carolina Hurricanes in the driver’s seat in their NHL semi-final series with the Montreal Canadiens heading into game four tonight at the Bell Centre.

The winner of that series will take on the Vegas Golden Knights, who upset the league’s best team in the regular season, Colorado.

It has been a post season to remember for Alex Newhook of St. John’s, who scored the series-winning goals against both Tampa Bay and Buffalo.

Craig Tulk, the executive director of Hockey NL, says it has been fun to watch Newhook, a product of the Avalon Celtics.

“Our vision is to be national leaders in hockey and there is an opportunity for us to have the next NHL star or referee in the NHL or a coach at the highest levels, ” says Tulk.
