The school year is drawing to a close and graduating high school students are planning a variety of activities to mark the milestone, but schools are warning about some less savoury graduating rituals.
The administration of Holy Heart High School in St. John’s is aware that students have planned a “senior pip day” today which could include scavenger hunts.
The school says it does not endorse, support or condone “senior pip day” in any capacity and warns that activities included in some scavenger hunts are dangerous or illegal, while others may constitute harassment or exploitation.
The school administration says with only weeks left in the school year, it hopes that students “can avoid unnecessary entanglements” and focus instead on their studies and final exams.
Any students who do decide to “pip off” will not be allowed on school property, as some of the items on the scavenger hunt include school disruptions.
