Santa Claus is coming to town this weekend at the annual downtown Christmas parade in the capital city, and this year organizers are aiming to make the experience more inclusive for everyone.
For the first time ever, a Sensory Friendly Zone will be established along the parade route.
In this area, those in the parade will turn their music down-or turn it off completely, marching bands will march only and not play their instruments, flashing lights on the roofs of vehicles will be turned off, and horns will not be blown.
The zone will start at the Subway at the Corner of Water and Adelaide Streets, and will end at the Dollarama near Water and Queen Streets.
The annual downtown Christmas parade is taking place this Sunday beginning at noon.
