The town of CBS is looking to expand.
At the 2020 budget announcement yesterday Mayor Terry French shared that there will be a one-year elimination of the building permit fee for new residential construction.
Deputy Mayor Richard Murphy says the town wants to encourage more people to build homes and live in the community.
Murphy says that the removal of the permit fee will create and average savings of $450 for each home built.
Open spaces and community parks were a top priority on the minds of CBS residents. The budget included the development of a Recreation & Cultural Master Plan.
CBS Mayor Terry French says the town is working on building a community green space. He hopes to complete phase 1 and 2 of the development next year.
French says they have a piece of land behind Dominion on Long Pond that they are going to turn into a green community space.
