The VOCM Cares Foundation is teaming up with the RNC for an event later this week to promote road safety for children.
VOCM Cares fund development manager Jenelle Lambert says with the nice summer weather there has been an increase in the number of children out on things like bikes and scooters, but with that has also come an increase in related accidents.
As Lambert explains, RNC officers will provide hands-on training for kids to help keep them safe, which includes negotiating an obstacle course.
She says the officers on site can tailor that course to whoever shows up. She adds that there will also be opportunities to speak with the officers and there will be a BBQ.
The event is taking place at the Kenmount Terrace Community Centre on Friday from 12 to 2 p.m. Registration is required, and more information can be found here.
