Two women from Newfoundland and Labrador have been recognized by Hockey Canada as provincial recipients of its 2026 BFL Women in Coaching Awards.
Heather Hutchings has been named the province’s Community Coach of the Year, while Carmen Elliott is the Competitive Coach of the Year.
The awards recognize female coaches who demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship and a commitment to developing players. Provincial winners receive a $1,000 bursary, with national winners to be announced later this year.
