A pair of armed robberies in Mount Pearl in broad daylight ended with a man in custody Wednesday.
Around 1:40 p.m. RNC officers were called to a robbery in progress at the Dunn’s Road Marie’s Mini Mart. A lone suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
But less than ten minutes later a second armed robbery was occurring, this time at the Royal Bank on Commonwealth Avenue. Again the man fled police.
This time the vehicle was quickly located and the suspect, a 51-year-old man arrested. He was charged with two counts of armed robbery, weapons assault, threats and breaches.
He was held for court.
