Police are investigating a terrifying incident in St. John’s after a person tried to pull a youn girl into a wooded area.

The RNC was called to the Southlands Community Centre around 9:30 last night after a young girl reported that someone attempted to drag her toward the bordering tree line. Following a brief struggle, the attacker fled the scene.

The young victim suffered minor injuries.

RNC, with a dog, searched the area but the suspect remains at large.

Police are asking anyone who saw anything or who may have dashcam or cell phone video from the area to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
