A man caught driving under the influence is in even more trouble after getting testy with police.
RCMP in Placentia were tipped off about the driver leaving a restaurant around 10:30 Tuesday night.
After patrolling the area, officers located and stopped the vehicle. Police say the 55-year-old man behind the wheel showed clear signs of impairment and was asked to provide a breath sample – which he refused.
As officers attempted to place him under arrest, he refused to co-operate and began uttering threats.
He was eventually taken into custody on charges of impaired driving, refusal, resisting or obstructing a peace officer and three counts of uttering threats.
He was released on conditions to appear in court at a later date.
