The Riverhead Volunteer Fire Department in St. Mary’s Bay is now fully fitted-out with the necessary equipment and protective clothing thanks to the generosity of a former resident.
Trent Comerford, the owner of T&K Services, has taken it upon himself to give back to his home community with a series of donations to the Riverhead Volunteer Fire Department.
The department, which has 23 active members, serves the communities of Riverhead, St. Mary’s and Gaskiers-Point la Haye.
Firefighter and former chief Don Boyles welcomes Comerford’s latest gift – 18 new bunker suits.
“Over the last 18 or so months, Mr. Comerford made considerable donations of equipment and protective clothing to our department. They exceed probably $100,000, and his latest donation is the new bunker suits to replace the ones they are currently wearing, which have expired.”
