We now have a timeline on the hydro deal between Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador.
Information has been coming in dribs and drabs on the new deal to develop hydro assets in Labrador and replace the existing agreement, which does not expire until 2041.
However, Quebec needs confirmed access to future power needs now, as does Newfoundland and Labrador as several significant mining projects await.
The deal comes down Monday afternoon with Premiers Tony Wakeham and Christine Frechette, who will have her energy minister and the president and CEO of Hydro Quebec alongside her. The notification of the news conference from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador does not mention his energy minister or Hydro CEO.
The announcement is set for 1:45 tomorrow afternoon. The location of the news conference has not yet been revealed.
It will be broadcast live on the VOCM-Big Land FM Radio Network.
