Holyrood has begun another attempt to find if a leak in the system is the culprit as it copes with water woes.
Mayor Laura Crawley says they have already done a deep dive with detection equipment but could find no leak. All of the wells are pumping as they should, so availability is not the issue.
She says something seems to be adding a lot of pressure on the system after midnight.
She says large amounts of water are being used in the middle of the night but they don’t know if that’s people putting timers on in the middle of the night for irrigation systems or filling pools overnight.
“We have not detected water being exposed on the ground yet so even if it is a major leak, we’re not detecting it above ground at all.”
Holyrood has imposed restrictions on outdoor usage such as washing cars and decks, filling pools, and watering lawns except in certain situations.
