Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he’s bringing the heat down a bit after a name-calling dispute with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Trump and Ford have been trading barbs in recent days, given the escalating trade war between Canada and the United States.
Earlier this week, Trump called Ford a ‘flunky’ to ‘governor’ Mark Carney.
The Ontario Premier didn’t hold back in his response, calling him a loser and saying he could kiss his you-know-what.
Ford has since stated that he plans to draw back on the name-calling and stay focused on fighting for Canada.
A political science professor at Memorial University, Dr. Amanda Bittner, says we’ve been seeing a bit of bad behavior from both sides.
She says Ford is making sure Trump knows that Canada is going to stand up to his bullying, yet the name-calling is escalating quickly.
