The Premier of Ontario says the Industrial Carbon Tax is killing industrial development and has to go.
Doug Ford made the comments during a housing announcement in Vaughan today.
Ford says in light of Canada’s efforts to respond to the trade war with the U.S. it’s time to “abandon ideology” and create the climate and conditions to attract more investment.
“We need to help our businesses compete and close the gap created by these new tariffs” says Ford.
“That means eliminating federal greenhouse gas emissions standards for Canadian-made vehicles, and exempting tariff-impacted sectors from federal emissions performance standards, which together add hundreds of millions of dollars in costs for Canadian businesses that make us uncompetitive.”
