This will be a busy weekend on our highways as people try to get in one final round with summer.

Although the season doesn’t end on the calendar for a couple of weeks, the Labour Day extension to the weekend is a time when many think of fishing, boating and camping.

Cpl. Dave Borden of RCMP Avalon East was on patrol in the region when he took time out for a chat on Your VOCM Mornings. He says one of the more important things in terms of safety is time management and not being in a rush to get to your destination.

“People trying to get to an appointment or cabin sometimes just don’t leave themselves enough time,” says Cpl. Borden.
