Residents of Port Hope Simpson who left their homes are now free to return as the threat of wildfire activity is now low, and the weather forecast is favourable.

It is still an active fire and there will be emergency response personnel and fire equipment in the area.

The State of Emergency and the evacuation alert for the town remains in place.
