Labrador Marine says the final food shipment destined for the north coast of Labrador left port today, following delays caused by some of the worst fall weather the region has recently experienced.
The Kamutik W was loaded with 55 containers and 1,200 pallets of supplies, which will be distributed at all ports from Rigolet to Nain. The first stop will be made tonight.

Concerns were raised after evidence that some food had been damaged or destroyed following lengthy waits in port.
Labrador Marine says it has been in touch with impacted customers, and will ensure that replacement goods are shipped before the season’s end.
According to the Woodward Group of Companies, remaining cargo in Goose Bay consists largely of general goods, like building supplies.
Should the weather hold, it’s expected the vessel will return to Goose Bay by mid-next week, at which point the remaining cargo will be processed.
